LAWAS: Public Works Department (PWD) Lawas sports and recreational club (Sokanjaya) kicked off the Ramadan month of acitivities with the distribution of 'bubur lambuk' for staff of Lawas hospital and members of the public.
This has been earmarked as an annual activity by the club, said its chairman Norman Jan who is also resident engineer of PWD Lawas district.
"This programme involved both Muslims and non-Muslim staff, and is regarded as an activity which could enhance the spirit of togetherness in PWD Lawas family," he said.
Assisted by his programme co-ordinator, Jasni Rajanin, the Sokanjaya corps prepared the popular 'bubuk lambuk' for distribution to the appreciative recipients to break their fast.
Meanwhile, Norman also advise locals in the district to be prudent in water usage during this dry weather as the resevoir water level at the treatment plant has dropped.
