Entrepreneurs asked to form smart partnerships | BorneoPost Online ... Posted: 13 Sep 2011 06:34 PM PDT Posted on September 14, 2011, Wednesday MATU: Chinese entrepreneurs here have been called on to form smart partnerships with local Bumiputera entrepreneurs to take advantage of the region's rapid economic transformation. Jemoreng assemblyman Abu Seman Jahwie said such transformation would take place under the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) and Tanjung Manis Halal Hub. By participating in joint ventures, he said, Chinese businessmen could expect maximum returns on their investment, while Bumiputera entrepreneurs could also learn good business acumen. "This would thereby complement the government's policy of producing more successful Bumiputera businessmen and traders as our country moves forward to become a high income nation in the near future," he said during a Mooncake and Lantern Festival on Sunday. It was organised by the Matu Chiang Chuan Association and Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Matu branch. On politics, Abu Seman thanked the Chinese, Melanau and Iban communities for helping him to retain his seat for Barisan Nasional (BN) with a bigger majority in the last state election. He promised to work harder to bring greater development to the people in Jemoreng, irrespective of their race or creed. |
