In Malaysia there are many seasons: Christmas, Hari Raya, Deepavali, Gawai Dayak etc and now we have a new season called the season of BN Empty PROMISES. Usually, this season of Promises precede a General Election and it is now a common sight to see a charade of Federal Cabinets members and led either by the Prime Minister or as it is by Deputy Prime Minister who is a "Malay 1st and Malaysia 2nd" visiting Sarawak and making promises. What is more funny to see is to have so many Sarawak Senior Ministers accompanying the Federal visitors as if they have nothing to do in their Ministry. My friend said those Senior Ministers are "ball carriers" and their agenda is only in their self interest and not of the people of Sarawak.

The local newspaper is full of BN Empty Promises and Propaganda and that even a ringgit per Sarawak Tribune / Borneo Post is too expansive to pay for.

Sarawak Trunk Road

"SUDDENLY" the Federal Government recognize the bad condition of Sarawak main trunk road. The Minister was reported to say that he cannot sleep along the way from Bintulu to Miri and he suffers back ache. I believed the DPM must have been driven in an expansive comfortable vehicle which is a world apart from the poor folks who frequent the road using Kancil and other small cars.  I would suggest that the DPM ride on a Kancil from Bintulu to Miri – I doubt he could even get out of the car after making that journey in a Kancil.

Then the play acting begin in Miri – DPM asking Peter Chin to bring the matter up in the Federal Cabinet meeting and that he will support it. Just a few week ago Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce has asked the Chief Minister to look into the same matter. Am I surprise that DPM brought up this poor condition of Sarawak main road in Miri? This is a game BN politician play to impress the voters. I am telling the voters this is the season of BN Empty PROMISE.

Where is the $1billion promised by Keris-muddin immediately after the 2008 PRU 12?

Sabah and Sarawak delivered the Federal Government to UMNO in PRU 12 of 2008. Keris-muddin came and was very happy with Sarawak that he announced a RM1 billion special allocation to build and improve road infra-structure in Sarawak. Which road was built using that money? The road to Kapit was not build. The road to Marudi was not build, neither the Lapok roak or even the Mukah road. There is no marked improvement on the main truck road. Did the money really was given to sarawak or did the State Government divert 60% of the money somewhere else?

Too many promises

I refused to narrate BN promises in this article, it is embarrassing to repeat the lies . But I would humbly bring the Government attention to their promises to Lubok Antu through a By-election after PRU 12. The amount promised during the by-election was to the tune of $80 million. How much has been delivered to the people of Lubok Antu?

The promised by CM that Sarawak would be the richest State in Malaysia by 2020. Now he said by 2030. I do hope Taib would still be alive bythen – remember Mugabe, these men are similar in many ways. They can live to old age and still rule the state. As long as Taib is alive there is no better man to lead Sarawak?

How about the promised of Kapit road by Manyin. The construction of the road Manyin said is no laughing matter and definitely not election focus. This is serious and that the road would have been constructed 2 years ago. Maybe the road is being built we never know because it may be hidden by mirage.

Now Awang Tengah say more fantastic things about providing Sarawak with electricity. I refused to quote the percentage that Awang Tengah gave, it is an insult to our common knowledge that the percentage of those without electricity is so much more then what was stated by him. I hope his don't quote the statistical department of Sarawak as his source or he may end up ridiculing the department.

Conclusion

Remember a promise is for the future – for which we will never be able to know whether it is true or not. But we can always look at history since 49 years ago. How much progress has BN brought to Sarawak and especially rural Sarawak. That is easy for us to know the answer because we can see the evidence. We know for a fact that BN lies all the time. In fact BN campaign to say that BN always deliver is another lies and hopefully told a thousand time would eventually be accepted as the truth.

Friends and all alike, it is our season to "UBAH" the government. Let the Federal Government fall into the hand of PR. Then how will Sarawak fare under the new Federal Gov't. We will see a different future for our children.

For Dayak will will ot want to be called bangsa "lain-lain" any more.

We UBAH ourselves and by so doing ubah the government. Change is not a choice, it is Change WE Must.
