SRI AMAN, Isnin (16 mei) – Penguasaan terhadap Teknologi Komunikasi dan Maklumat (ICT) dikalangan anak-anak dalam kawasan Sri Aman akan diteruskan dipertingkatkan dari masa ke semasa kata Ahli Parlimen Sri Aman, Masir Kujat. Katanya usaha ini terbukti dengan adanya pembukaan kemudahan Jalur Lebar Tanpa Wayar yang diperkenal menerusi Inisiatif Jalur Lebar Negara (National Broadband Initiative atau NBI) di Kampung Sabu, Sri Aman pada 13 April lepas. "Kerajaan buat masa sekarang telah pun mewujudkan kemudahan Jalur Lebar Tanpa Wayar dalam kawasan Parlimen Sri Aman antaranya ialah di Rumah Melunggang anak Adir, Pakit A dan Rumah Ellie anak Chemeng, Sabu. "Kita akan meneruskan usaha untuk menubuhkan lebih banyak kemudahan Jalur Lebar Tanpa Wayar di kawasan luar bandar yang mempunyai jumlah kepadatan penduduk yang tinggi, akses terhadap isyarat internet dan bekalan elektrik selepas ini," katanya. Masir berkata demikian ketika berucap pada Majlis Makan Malam sempena sambutan Perayaan Gawai Dayak 2011 anjuran Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) cawangan Sri Aman di Dewan Suarah Sri Aman malam kelmarin. Dengan adanya pembukaan lebih banyak kemudahan terbabit di Sri Aman maka tidak mustahil Sri Aman akan mampu melahirkan lebih ramai golongan modal insan yang lebih cemerlang pada masa akan datang. "Ini merupakan salah satu usaha pihak kerajaan Barisan Nasional (BN) yang mahu melihat semua penduduk bersama-sama menikmati kelebihan kemudahan ICT pada masa sekarang "Justeru saya berharap agar penduduk terutama sekali golongan anak-anak di kawasan Sri Aman memanfaatkan sepenuhnya kemudahan ICT yang diwujudkan oleh kerajaan di kawasan mereka selepas ini," katanya. Hadir sama ialah Menteri Muda Kemajuan Tanah, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis dan isteri beliau, Datin Simba Nalang, Residen Sibu, Sim Khok Kee dan Pengerusi SIDS cawangan Sri Aman, Roselyn Abunawas. Majlis anjuran Sarakup Induk Dayak Sarawak cawangan Sri Aman itu diserikan lagi dengan Pekit Kumang, majlis penyampaian wang insentif pendidikan, persembahan kebudayaan dan persembahan nyanyian karaoke.
